Éirinn go Brách

My family is Irish—our ancestors were from County Cork—so when we got the chance to visit Ireland in the late 80s, we jumped at the chance. As a 16-year-old, I was less than patient with the James Joyce tour, but I did enjoy going through Limerick (my favorite form of poetry), and I kissed the Blarney Stone to help me woo women (results are debatable). Being a big Medieval Fantasy fan, I thoroughly geeked out over the different castles, and I was struck by the realization of just how young the United States is as a country. As the old joke goes, people in the US think 200 years is a long time, while people in the UK think 200 miles is a long drive.

I hope to get back to Ireland one day and see it through older eyes. I think I’d have a deeper appreciation of the history, even James Joyce. Until then, we have St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, where everyone can be Irish for a day! Check out these fun St. Patrick’s Day mugs!

1. Lucky Mug

You’ll always have a four-leaf clover handy with this mug.

2. Happy March 17th!

It doesn’t roll off of the tongue like the Christmas version, but bad puns are awesome anyway.

3. Trickster

If you get caught, you can just blame it on the wee folk.

4. One letter makes all the difference.

I always tried to claim that my heritage exempted me from this tradition. That didn’t work, but this mug will.

5. Pick a Reason

More professions are here.

These are just a few of our great St. Patrick’s Day mugs! Need some for the whole clan? U.S. orders of two or more mugs get free shipping!
