Get Twisted

I made the stereotypical New Year’s resolution to exercise more this year, and I’ve been pretty good about sticking to it. I checked out gym memberships, pool access, and local trainers, but in the end, I went with a combination of aerobics and yoga. #1, instructional videos are free online. #2, I can work out without being self conscious about how uncoordinated I am. #3, these are indoor activities. We only get about two weeks of nice weather in the spring and fall; the rest of the time it’s too hot or too cold to exercise outside.

I started seeing good results after a month or so. In addition to keeping a good weight and blood pressure, I am now flexible enough to scratch my own back. That’s really important when you work at home alone. It also lowers your stress level, and that makes everybody else’s day easier.

June 21 is International Yoga Day, so grab your mat, your towel, and your Yoga mug and relax…right now!

1. Enthusiasm

There are worse things to be addicted to, that’s for sure.

2. Faux-ga

It’s kind of surprising how much of an impact yoga has, even if you’re half-hearted about it.

3. Flaunt It

The biggest benefit to exercise is looking great. Show off all of your hard work!

4. Om

Bendiness aside, many people practice yoga for the mental health benefits.

5. Tick Tock!

And some people want those mental health benefits as soon as possible.
