There are approximately 35,000 golf courses all over the world, and the game in its modern form—originating in Scotland—has been played for over 600 years. There are four major tournaments each year, with millions of dollars in prize money offered.

One of my friends from college, a business major, learned golf specifically because a lot of deals are made on the course. He’s an executive at a huge sportswear company now, and claims it’s because of the contacts he made while playing. I guess he was right.
