July 11 is World Population Day. This observance was established by the United Nations Development Programme in 1989, with the goal of focusing on global population issues such as family planning, gender equality, sustainable development, etc.
While it’s important to chart current trends in order to plan ahead, it’s equally important to look back and trace the journey we’ve taken. History gives us valuable insights as to what works and what doesn’t. More importantly, it can tell us why. Museums offer a treasure trove of resources for comparing and contrasting past populations, but apart from a few movies, the men and women who fill the museums with those resources are largely unsung. Check out some of our fun archaeology mugs!
1. My dry cleaner hates me
While there are numerous specialties, this is the popular perception. Digging old things out of the dirt in far-flung locations.
2. Not Picky
And the older you are, the more they like you.
3. Actually a good thing
It would also help if town councils would stop building car parks on top of them.
4. The bulldozers arrive tomorrow
There might be soil in your sandwich and water in your tent, but you need to push through the night to get those last site records.
5. Own It
You’re going to hear the comparisons anyway; may as well make it a point of pride.
These are just a few of the awesome archaeologist mugs we have available. And remember, we can customize any mug with your favorite digger’s name, picture, or more!
