Welcome to June! Schools are out, blackberries are ripening, and fireflies are blinking around at night. If you’re like most people, you’re probably starting to make summer vacation plans. Ours usually include a camping trip or two up in the mountains where it’s cooler. My kids’ birthdays are in the summer, so we also try to hit the zoo or an amusement park to celebrate.
Speaking of celebrations, two out of three North American countries recommend July for National holidays. Canada Day is on the first, and U.S. Independence Day is on the fourth. Let’s take a look at some of the other fun holidays!
1. July 6: International Kissing Day
Kissing is awesome and fun, and now there’s a whole day celebrating it. Find a reason!
2. July 8: Video Games Day
Whether you’re solving a mystery, blasting zombies, or leading a party into the dragon’s lair, everyone needs a break from reality now and then.
3. July 14: Shark Awareness Day

4. July 17: World Emoji Day
5. July 24: Amelia Earhart Day
One of aviation’s enduring mysteries.
6. July 31: Mutt's Day
Many would argue that mutts are better than any pure-blood.
7. National Anti-Boredom Month
We have a houseful of movies, art supplies, games, books, and the internet. When my kids complain that they’re bored, I make them do chores.
If you will be celebrating any of these next month, be sure to order your new mugs early so you’ll have them in time! Remember, U.S. orders of two or more mugs get free shipping!
