Today we are looking ahead to some upcoming observances in July! Sure, there are a couple of huge national holidays in Canada and the United States, but that’s only two days. “What about the other 29 days?” I hear you ask. And I’m so glad you did! Here are a few smaller things you can celebrate in July:
1. July 1 – National Postal Worker Day
As much stuff as I order online, I certainly don’t want my mail carrier to be mad at me.
2. July 8 – Video Games Day
Get a guild together, or go on a solo quest. Video games give us a break from the everyday.
3. July 13 – Embrace Your Geekness Day
The difference between a nerd and a geek is that nerds are practitioners while geeks are fans. Either way, search for your obsession from our home page.
4. July 17 – World Emoji Day
It’s tough to recognize sarcasm, frustration, degrees of happiness, and other emotions through text. Let an emoji help make your reactions clear.
5. July 27 - Take a Walk Day
It’s light exercise and a change of scenery. Go get some fresh air!
6. July 30 – International Day of Friendship
The internet has made it easy to meet and interact with people in other countries, so this can truly be an international celebration.
7. Week 2 – National Farriers Week
If you own or work with horses, you know how important it is to take care of their feet.
8. Week 3 - Capture the Sunset Week
Three pillars? Soft box? Rule of Thirds? Photographers have a huge variety of guidelines and gear to achieve different effects. Sunsets are particularly good for practicing ISO, shutter speed, and aperture settings.
This is just a short list of some of the fun and special days in July. Have something else to celebrate? You can search for your interests from our home page. Have a lot to celebrate in July? Awesome! Remember that U.S. orders of two or more mugs get free shipping, so go ahead and get as many as you need!
