We know, February isn’t even a week old yet, but we’re already looking ahead to March! This is to make sure you’ll have your orders in time for your celebrations.
Originally called Martius after Mars, the God of War, March was the first month of the old Roman calendar, and was celebrated as the time when warfare could begin again. The United Kingdom continued to mark the new year as beginning in March until the mid-18th century, when they finally converted to the Gregorian calendar.
In the Northern Hemisphere, March marks the beginning of spring. Those of us that have suffered through bitter cold and too much rain and snow very much look forward to the equinox in late March, when temperatures start to climb again.
Let’s take a look at some of the fun holidays to celebrate in March!
1. March 1: National Day of Unplugging
Take a break from the screens. Be social without the media!
2. March 2: National Read Across America Day
It’s the most important skill to have. If you can read (and understand what you’re reading), you can learn anything else.
3. March 8: International Women's Day
It’s the day where 1/2 of the population gets 1/365th of the acknowledgement. Make it loud.
4. March 17: St. Patrick's Day
Celebrate everyone’s favorite March holiday by wearing green, hitting the pubs, and being mistaken for part of the United Kingdom!
5. March 20: International Day of Happiness
There’s a lot out there to be sad or angry about. Take one day to remember the good things. This often coincides with #1 above.
6. National Caffeine Awareness Month
You bet we can help with this one!
7. National Crafting Month
It’s almost nice enough to go back outside. Until then, enjoy those great indoor hobbies!
These are just a few of the celebrations occurring in March. Place your orders today to make sure you are stocked up with new mugs in time! And remember, U.S. orders of two or more mugs get free shipping, too!
