Serving with Honor

People join the military for many different reasons, to learn a trade or pay for college, for example. Others genuinely want to serve out of a sense of patriotism and duty. Driving around, you’ll see all kinds of window decals or bumper stickers announcing that you’re behind an Army mom, an Air Force dad, or a veteran of this that or another branch.

Most people that serve in the military don’t see major conflict. For every soldier on the front lines, there are a couple dozen support staff making sure that soldier gets fed, delivering the information and supplies they need, arranging paychecks, filing paperwork, and keeping vehicles running.

May 27 is Memorial Day, so if you have a friend or family member who’s a veteran, be sure to thank them for their service.

1. Montezuma to Tripoli

They may be the smallest branch, but you could argue they are the fiercest.

2. No Such Thing as Ex

Retiring doesn’t cancel out the years of discipline and camaraderie.

3. Wild Blue Yonder

Though it’s the youngest branch, it is the largest and most technologically advanced air force in the world.

4. Grounded

The only person in the chain of command that can’t be fooled is your spouse.

5. The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday

All Special Forces teams are impressive, but the Seals seem to be held a little higher in esteem.

6. Still Afloat

As with the other branches, no one is ever ex-Navy.

7. Sleep Easy

They’re well-trained, well-armed, and follow orders. You could do a lot worse than having the Army watching your back.

8. Brotherhood

I have never met a veteran who was anything other than proud of their time in the military.

9. Paid in Full

They make the sacrifices and endure the hardships so the rest of us don’t have to.

10. Glory

Whichever branch you serve in, and no matter your job, this is the banner that unites all of you.

These are just a few of our military mugs. You can do searches for specific branches from our home page, or read our blog posts for Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. If you have several friends or family members that are veterans, remember that U.S. orders of two or more mugs get free shipping.
