Need Help? Call Us On

Their Appointed Rounds

There was a time in my life when I absolutely dreaded going to the mailbox because it most likely had another past due bill lurking inside. I think that’s pretty common for people out on their own for the first time. It was a case of “the burned hand teaches best,” so I learned how to make (and stick to!) a budget.

Now a trip to the mailbox is something to look forward to. I order a lot online, and when I am waiting for some new household items, computer peripherals, clothing, or a fun knick-knack I bought just because, it’s very much like waiting for Christmas. I hit the Tracking button a couple of times a day, and when I see that it’s out for delivery, I keep peeking out of the window to spot the truck.

I live in a small town, so I know my postal carrier by name. He likes to poke fun at me for the amount of packages I have coming in, and I insist I only do it to keep him employed. I make a special effort to thank him when the weather is nasty or it’s a public holiday and he still has to work.

July 1 is National Postal Carrier Day. Make sure your mailman or mailwoman knows that their efforts are appreciated with one of our mail mugs!

1. No Forwarding Address

Think of all of the important things your carrier brings you. Why would you deliberately irritate them?

2. Be a (1st) Class Act

Whenever I go to the post office, there’s always someone getting angry at the desk workers about some policy they had nothing to do with. Don’t do this.

3. Stamp Out Rudeness

As with any other public transaction, know what you want and have your money ready. The workers have a lot of people to help, and we all have other places to be.

4. Handle with Care

Anyone that’s had a job dealing with the public will understand this.

5. Priority

You shouldn’t annoy any civil servant, but especially not your postal carrier or your garbage collector.

Any of these postal carrier mugs would make a great gift. Imagine the look on their face when they start to hand you our package, and you say “No, that’s yours.” We have mugs for a lot of “behind the scenes” occupations, so if there is someone else you want to spotlight, do a search from our home page. Want to recognize several someones? U.S. orders of two or more mugs get free shipping! Free to you, that is; we still pay the carrier.
